Dungarthill House, by Dunkeld, Perthshire is an elegant, private and accessible Victorian self catering country house set in its own charming landscape on the Highland fringe. Ideal Dunkeld accommodation for a large get together.
At first floor level, there is the Bedroom Suite and eight Double/Twin Bedrooms and three Bath/Shower Rooms. The house can accommodate up to 21guests.
THE KITCHEN
AT DUNGARTHILL HOUSE
The kitchen is fully fitted with a four oven Aga, microwave, electric oven, hob, 2 integrated fridges and 2 dishwashers, as well as twin sinks. There are fantastic views over the house gardens too.
The kitchen is big enough to house a table capable of seating ten. Adjacent to the kitchen is the Laundry Room with its Belfast sink, 2 washing machines & 2 dryers.
Across the corridor there is a pantry room with a large chest freezer for all your frozen goods & 2 under-counter fridges.
THE GROUNDS
SITUATED IN RURAL PERTHSHIRE
Dungarthill House is understood to date from 1889 when it was built as a wedding present for Mr Cox of the renowned Dundee Jute Manufacturers, Cox Brothers. Unusually, the house is understood to have been built as a single entity and the original layout of the house has been preserved and virtually all the period features retained.
These include:
• Substantial fireplaces with ornate mantelpieces.
• Ornate and plain cornices.
• Oak and pine panelling.
BILLIARDS ROOM
AT DUNGARTHILL HOUSE
The Billiards Room features a full sized Billiards Table for a wannabe Ray Reardon to enjoy. The room also has a snug to sit and relax in with a glass of your favourite tipple whilst the fire roars. Please note that the house has a no smoking policy.
65” SMART TV, SOUNDBAR & 4K DVD PLAYER
This cosy room has a newly fitted, wall mounted smart TV with a sound bar – perfect for those movie nights. Also within the room is a 4K Blu Ray / DVD player with a small collection of DVDs.
The TV is connected to a Freesat dish and the WIFI so guests can pair their devices to watch their own content.
THE LOUNGE
The lounge has an open fire, with plenty of seating for your friends.
There are dual aspect windows showing views of the lawns and swooping drive.
DINING ROOM
The formal Dining Room can seat 20. There is a Butler’s Pantry between the Dining Room and the Kitchen, with a small serving hatch.
This room features a unique hot air balloon chandelier.
