Set beside the River Torridge within 2 acres of ancient woodland, and located in the charming village of Black Torrington in rural mid-Devon, Treehouse In Devon is a true ‘getaway’ from the stresses of our modern world.
A homely, rustic space with wooden floorboards, inside you’ll find comfortable furniture, a log burner to keep you cosy on colder nights, books for grownups and for children, plus a selection of board games. Sleeping up to 4 guests in 2 large bedrooms, each featuring french windows that open onto the balcony, you can choose either 2 superking-size beds or 1 superking-size and 2 single beds. This makes us the perfect getaway for couples, families or a small group of friends
The fully equipped kitchen means you’re free to either rustle up your own tasty meals at your leisure or eat out at one of the nearby pubs or restaurants.
Lovingly crafted from our own or locally grown timber, the treehouse features kitchen worktops and a unique handmade bed which have been specifically designed to showcase the beauty of our very own copper beech tree.
A large balcony encircles the treehouse and ensures you’ll find your own favourite spot to read and relax or to just close your eyes and indulge in a spot of forest bathing (shinrin yoku), believed to help de-stress and boost health and well-being in a natural way. Alternatively, you can choose to soak up the sounds of nature in a picturesque spot by the river while being mesmerised by shimmering damselflies and delighted by the flash and splash of blue as a kingfisher dives past.
If you’re feeling more energetic, why not take a walk through the woodland that surrounds you and see if you can spot the other wildlife that is sometimes seen here, for example, badgers, deer and otters? We have a large area that we have given over to re-wilding and have provided a number of hibernaculum to support amphibians and reptiles so who knows what you’ll discover?
